WATERMELON MINT SPLASH - A Summer Treat

When you are wilting under the summer heat what is the first thing that comes to mind? Nothing is more refreshing than a red juicy watermelon. Let me tell you a story about the Big “W”. The watermelon originated in Southern Africa but the world’s single largest producer of the watermelon, today, is China. A watermelon contains about 6% sugar and 92% water by weight. As with many other fruits, it is a great source of vitamin C. Traditionally used to cure skin disorders, bladder, kidney and digestive problems. There are more than 1200 varieties of watermelon ranging in size from less than a pound, to more than two hundred pounds, with flesh that is red, orange, yellow or white.

INGREDIENTS:

2 cups de-seeded watermelon
1-2 mint leaves
1 cup water
2 tbsp sugar/honey (can add more/less according to the sweetness of the watermelon)
Ice cubes

Put all the ingredients into a blender & whip it for 2-3 mins. Filter the juice, garnish with mint leaves & n’joy your summer with watermelon mint splash.
